PREGNANT AND FORGETFUL

How quickly we forget! This is no joke. Today I was going to blog about baby names, I had a few fun things to bring up that I'd been thinking of all week long. As I sat down to write it on this Friday morning I could not come up with a single one. Very upsetting! At a recent family gathering I forgot a story I was going to tell after the introduction. Don't worry - I have lots of people around me during the news, it seems to only happen at home. It's pregnancy fog!

That is why I am SO thrilled to learn about another study showing that pregnancy causes forgetfulness. Wow, and just this week my mother was trying to tell me that I am getting to the age where you start really losing your memory. What a relief and I have scientific proof to show my mom. :)

The study by Australian researchers of more than 1,000 women showed that pregnant women do have a slight loss of memory, which can continue up to a year after birth.
I can see the real fun is just beginning in my journey! I hope I can remember to buy post its for the many lists I will now have to make.

lisa, believe it or not the wonderous human body is getting ready for birth.all women who have given birth don't remeber the pain of childbirth once they see the beautiful face of their child.see if you remember,if you did then no one would have more than one baby!!!

Lisa, you are such a normal pregnant woman. I was in my 20's when I had my three children and was forgetful with all three...which is probably why I soon forgot how I felt thru each natural childbirth. Maybe that's why God made us forgetful!!! Now I enjoy the pregnancy, births and growing up years of my granddaughters...Alexandra Marie and Elizabeth Mackenzie. My how the time flies by !!! I hope you are writing a lot about your pregnancy experiences in a diary for yourself to enjoy looking back on in the future. God bless you, your hubby and your baby always. Sincerely, Donna from Torrington

Well thank goodness for that study...I was starting to think I was a bit crazy..I am always forgetting something..Especially when I'm out at the store I go in for milk and come out with a whole carrage full of stuff except of course the milk.LOL. I guess thats what happens when you have a 1year old and a 2 year old.

Hi Lisa,
Congrats on your pregnancy....when I was pregnant with my son, I was taking an Anatomy & Physiology class at a local community college. My teacher, whom I knew very well and is still the smartest woman I ever met told me very bluntly that estrogen makes you stupid! Literally! Your estrogen levels are high during pregnancy which causes lack of concentration, forgetfullness etc.
There really is a scientific reason for the "pregnancy fog"!!! We feel like we are losing our minds for an actual reason!
good luck!
